Other assignments: Member of the Board of University College Dublin's University Industry Programme, member of the board of  CRANN, the Centre of Research on Adaptive Nanostructures and Nanodevices, member of a Government advisory group, the Advisory Council of Science, Technology and Innovation and its predecessor, ICSTI. Fellow of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland.
